Mental Health Counselor

Duties and Responsibilities: Mental health counselors help people manage or overcome mental and emotional disorders and problems with their family or relationships. They listen to clients and ask questions to help the clients understand their problems and strategies to improve their lives.  

Salary: $42,250 per years and $20.31 per hour

Education: master’s degree, bachelor’s degree, and clinical mental health counseling.

Demand for this profession: Employment of mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists is projected to grow 19 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. Growth is expected in both occupations as more people have mental health counseling services covered by their insurance policies.

Reflection: I think that I would like to be one because it's related to being a therapist.

What this quote means is that all the hard work you have done will pay off someway. Good work will eventually turn into good rewards. This has a lot to do with choosing what is right. When you choose to do the right things you will be rewarded. But if you decide to choose to do something wrong, then there won’t be any rewards to that. Mostly punishments will come if you get caught choosing to do wrong. An example of this quote is Tyler Haws. Tyler Haws tried hard to get better in basketball, and he did. Another example is when someone doesn’t do their work. This person is choosing the wrong. They are not putting effort into their goals and will be unsuccessful. Choosing to do what’s right is best for you and for everyone else.

What this statement is trying to say is that, your future and what you think you have ahead of you could only be done if you always choose what’s right. Even if you do it alone you know that you will make it. For example, if you’re going to college but you don't know anybody and you think that hanging out with a group of people who drink is better it's wrong because you are not choosing the right and you are not going to have independence and freedom. Independence and freedom can only exist if you choose what’s right because your decisions will always affect your future or anything that you do that is bad will affect your future. For example, if you choose to stay alone and only have 2 friends in college and they don’t try to put you in drugs or into drinking then that is choosing the right and you have a future ahead of you.

Geo-scientist

Duties and Responsibilities: Geo-scientist study the physical aspects of the earth, such as its composition, structure, and processes to learn about its past, present, and future. Geo-scientists often work outdoors, sometimes in remote areas and in both warm and cold climates.  

Salary: $89,910 per year and $43.22 per hour

Education: Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, A degree in Geo-science is preferred by employers, although a degree in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, engineering, or computer science usually is accepted if it includes coursework in geology, P.h.D is sometimes necessary for most basic research and college teaching position,   

Demand For This Profession: communication skills, critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, outdoor skills, physical stamina, and problem solving skills.

Reflection: I would like to be a Geo-scientist because you go outdoors and try to find ancient things that are buried in the ground or under the sand. This interest me because you could find really old stuff under the ground like fossils, rocks, crystals etc. Then you could get to study what you find and you end up knowing what is the piece you found. When you find things buried they are worth so much money and you could even put it in a museum so people could know who found it and the history of the piece. You could read about the history of the piece and you could actually learn from it even if you only find a piece of a fossil or a rock. Things that you find buried are ancient stuff from thousand years ago.

What this quote means is that if you choose the right, you are great. When you choose the right people look up to you, they also admire you and what you do. An example of this quote is when someone does their homework. This person is truly great. They are choosing the right and doing what they're supposed to. Another example of someone who is deciding to do wrong is when they cheat. Cheating is wrong so that means they aren’t truly great. People wouldn’t look up or admire you for cheating because that is something wrong to do. That is why you always have to choose the right and not the wrong. You should always tell the truth that is why goodness equals greatness because you make a better future for yourself and the ones who look up to you and admire you.

What this quote is saying is that cheating is wrong and it isn’t worth it during the long run. Once you get caught cheating it’s all over and everything you’ve gotten will soon be gone because that’ll be one of the consequences you’ll have to own up to. Your reputation will turn into something else, you won’t be known as what you were known before. It’s all a change and you’ll be the cheater. Things will turn out difficult for you. But that’s only if you choose to cheat. That is something wrong to do. Unlike choosing to do the right things and not cheat which one of the best options. You can have everything and you won’t change anything besides how you weren’t the one that was cheating. Nothing of your reputation will be ruined, it’ll remain the same as the intelligent person that you are. There wouldn’t be any consequences just rewards for not cheating. Choose to do the right things for yourself.

Psychologist

Duties and Responsibilities: a psychologist is someone who has a degree on the study of the brain in terms of human behavior and personality. Psychologist work in variety of settings with individual patients, business, hospitals, clinics, schools, prisons, communities, the government, the military and many others.   

Salary: $69,130 - $110,386

Education: although psychologist typically need a doctoral degree in psychology, a master’s degree is sufficient for some positions. Psychologist in independent practice also need a licensed.

Demand for this profession: employment of clinical, counseling, and school psychologists is projected to grow 20 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. Greater demand for psychological services in schools, hospitals, mental health centers, and social services agencies should drive employment growth.

Reflection: I would like to be a psychologist. I would like to be a psychologist because it’s similar to being a therapist. This interest me because I love helping people.
