Audiologist
Duties and responsibilities:
Is a branch of science that studies hearing, balance, and related disorders. It’s
a practitioner, who treats those with hearing loss and proactively prevents
related damage are audiologist. In
addition to testing hearing, audiologists can also work with a wide range of
clientele in rehabilitation (people with tinnitus, auditory processing
disorders, users of cochlear implants and/or hearing aids), from pediatric
populations to veterans and may perform assessment of tinnitus and the
vestibule system. Audiologists are trained to diagnose, manage and/or treat hearing, tinnitus, or
balance problems. They dispense, manage, and rehabilitate hearing and assess candidacy for and map cochlear implants. They counsel
families through a new diagnosis of hearing loss in infants, and help teach
coping and compensation skills to late-deafened adults.
Salary: $63,640

Education: master’s degree, audiologists
must earn a doctoral degree (PhD or AuD) in order to be eligible for national
certification, bachelor’s degree, and require
courses in physics, math, anatomy and physiology.

Reflection:
I wouldn’t like to be a audiologist. I wouldn’t like to be one because you
probably get stressed out on what you are going to do so people/children could
hear or whatever they need. You’re probably going to be up all day and night
trying to figure out a solution to what your patient needs. If there is little
kids then you’ll probably feel bad of you are sensitive and you’ll want to find
a solution right away.
