Ear, Nose, and Throat
(ENT) Specialist
Duties and responsibilities: An ENT specialist is also called
an Otolaryngologist which deals with the ear, nose, and throat. Also it works
for related areas of the head and neck. People search for ENT specialist for
treatment for the ear, nose, and ear. An ENT is physicians (MD, DO, MBBS,
MBChB, etc.)
Salary: $184,650 - $302,500
Education: To become an ENT doctor, you will begin by pursuing the
traditional route to and through medical school. Score well on the MCAT
and earn a high undergraduate GPA, especially in the core science courses of
biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics. Obtain clinical
experiences that allow you to shadow an ENT doctor so that you will begin to
understand the realities of the profession. Apply to complete four years
of medical school. During the last two years, you can take specialized coursework
in otolaryngology.
Reflection: I wouldn’t like to be an ENT specialist because
you have a lot of jobs to do. Especially because you have to take a lot of
classes just so you could know what to do just on three things. It doesn’t seem
exciting or boring it’s like in the middle of both. It’s like being a regular doctor
because you check the years and throat and nose so why not just be a regular
doctor? Or you could study for every type of medicine that you would like to
do.
